Day 228: Count Zero by William Gibson
William Gibson wrote a number of popular science fiction books including Pattern Recognition. When people ask me what my dream job would be I usually tell them I want to be like Cayce, the main character. She has a psychological sensitivity to logos and branding - essentially she is allergic to bad branding. People paid her gobs of money to look at their logo and then she'd reject or accept them without ceremony. I can't tell you how many times I've seen advertising that I wish they'd run by me.

ReplyDeleteI think you're right, do you want it back?
ReplyDelete(Any readers should be aware that he loaned it to me approximately ten years ago)
ReplyDeleteOh, no, please pass it on. My library is already to big for me to haul around every time I move. . .
