I've been wanting to pick up programming and chose Ruby for a good starter language. I have a copy of pickaxe and for awhile I was working my way through Why's (Poignant) Guide to Ruby. Why's (Poignant) Guide to Ruby is an awesome ebook. The book is illustrated with comics and is the most bizarre piece of writing I have ever consumed. Seriously, check it out. Because of it I will forever think of an array as a caterpillar.
