I am not a naturally tidy person and over the years I've discovered that it is easier to keep my living space clean if I own fewer possessions. I purge my belongings regularly and am very careful about what I bring in to the house. Unfortunately this has not been enough to keep my room as clean as I would like and I have decided that a self-intervention is needed.
I have committed myself to getting rid of something every day for the next year.
The purpose of this project is to pare down my possessions to what is demonstrably useful or valuable to me. This will not be a simple task, almost everything I own is still in my possession because of a conscious decision that it still has some value. I am only allowed to end the project early if I can prove to outside parties that I have nothing left to get rid of that isn't necessary, deeply sentimental, or regularly used.
